You might not think of your kitchen sink as an area for innovation, but the Chinese company Boelon thinks differently. Its new Luxury Kitchen Sink goes a whole lot further than simply offering a faucet and a basin, and it does so in some ways that could be genuinely helpful or more convenient than whatever your kitchen sink has to offer right now.
The Luxury Kitchen Sink starts by redesigning the basics of what a kitchen sink should offer. It has a tall arched faucet that’s extendable for ease of use, but that’s perhaps the most normal thing about it – and you may not even use that main faucet as much as you would expect. That’s because the sink actually has various other water outlets for different uses.
There’s a high-pressure cup washer like those you’ll see in a bar, a waterfall outlet, and even a so-called water column outlet. There’s also a purified water dispenser that you can use to fill up a glass of clean water, though an actual purifier is not included. You can switch between all of these different modes with a series of buttons on the rear of the sink, making it easy to use whatever mode you need in the moment.
The Luxury Kitchen Sink also replaces the traditional temperature-adjusting handle with a large dial that has a display built into it, allowing you to see how hot or cold you have the temperature set. And the sink does away with the need to reach into dirty dishwater to pull out the plug. It has a second dial that adjusts the drainage level, and you’ll simply turn that to either fully plug the sink, fully open it up, or somewhere in between.
You can simply use the sink as a large basin, but there are also a number of attachments that fit neatly inside it for versatile uses, including a cutting board, a draining basket, and even a smaller standard basin, all of which fit inside the main basin.
Not only is the sink high-tech, it comes with a sleek, minimalist design. The sink is made from stainless steel with a custom nano coating that makes it more durable and easier to clean, and it has accent lighting running along the rear where all of the controls are, which helps make it look even more modern.
