Social Security recipients anxious about their next payments this April can rest assured that payments will continue to follow the schedule posted online by the Social Security Administration. Recipients this year have seen an even lower cost of living adjustment (COLA) than in 2024, at just 2.5%, which, while better than no COLA, is not quite enough to keep up with recent consumer price index increase of 2.8%

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients (those who are 65 or older, with a disability and limited income) will continue to receive their checks on the first of each month, with April’s check having been disbursed on the 1st.
For SSI beneficiaries, the 2025 payment schedule follows the same pattern that has been in place for many years — SSI beneficiaries get two payments in May, August and November, but none in January, June and September. They’ll receive payment for the remaining six months in one check (That comprises February, March, April, July, October and December).
