Good things can happen! Just take a moment of levity amid the devastating tornadoes tearing across Arkansas. ABC News Chief Meteorologist Ginger Zee was reporting live from the scene when the moment happened. A mama dog found her puppy among the rubble left from a destroyed home. And now everyone online is a mess in the comments section.
Thank goodness the moment was caught on camera. Zee was working hard to report on the storms that would continue to rip through the area. But then something miraculous happened….
Zee herself was touched by the interaction. Video from ABC News shows the reporter standing among the debris at the exact moment the mama dog found her little pup. Isn’t that so beautiful? We could really cry just thinking about these two being apart for even a minute. We’re sure mama dog was so scared!

“We’ve been with this mama dog and she just found her puppy in the rubble behind us,” Zee said. “A very happy survivor story.”
The two couldn’t get enough of each other. They seemed to be so happy to be together once again. People in the comments section were all choked up over the reunion.
“Literally tearing up right now that mama must’ve been so happy to see her baby,” wrote one commenter.
“How is that reporter not balling her eyes out omg,” another commenter wondered.
“Okay, who has the box of tissues? Hand it over,” someone else chimed in.
“She was probably so worried about her babies and so confused about what was happening,” another person added.
Arkansas Was Hit by Two Possible EF3s
It really is no small feat that the dogs found each other. According to THV11, the state was hit by what are believed to be two possible EF3 tornadoes, with peak winds hitting up to 150 mph. The storms caused all sorts of damage in homes and communities.
Thankfully, ABC News shared a happy update on this family, who managed to survive the worst.
“UPDATE: The owner of the pups confirms that the other two puppies were found safe with a neighbor and that all dogs and humans are now accounted for,” they wrote.
Whew, what a relief!
