A fire that threatened homes in San Diego’s northern suburbs was quickly contained thanks to a “fast response by air units,” the city fire department said on January 22.
The fire, dubbed the Center Fire, started that morning in the Rancho Bernardo area, local news reports said, with evacuation orders and warnings following. These were lifted by 3:15 pm.
“Homes were threatened and there were initial evacuation orders, but support from nearby and partner agencies ensured no structures were damaged,” the fire department said.
