If you’re anything like me, you love a good sale. Black Friday and Cyber Monday might be over, but I have good news—you can still shop certain on-sale beauty products. Yep, that’s right. There are still sales happening, and not just any old sales, either.
Nordstrom, for one, is having an extended fragrance sale on some of its best-selling scents. I’m talking about fragrances from luxe designer brands like Tom Ford, Burberry, Valentino, YSL, and more. Keep scrolling to see the 13 perfumes I’m considering adding to my cart while they’re still on sale (and not sold out).
TOM FORD
Café Rose Eau De Parfum
Notes: Turkish rose, rose Bulgaria, dark coffee, ylang-ylang, coriander, patchouli, cardamom, incense, sandalwood
To me, this scent is reminiscent of a warm and inviting coffee shop. At first, there’s an elegant rose note. Then, there’s a rich, dark coffee notes. After it lingers on the skin for a second, I pick up the spiciness of coriander and cardamom and the creaminess of sandalwood. In my opinion, it’s the ideal winter perfume.
Jo Malone London
Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne
Notes: ambrette seeds, sea salt, sage
This iconic perfume is fresh, natural, and slightly woody. Whenever I smell it, I think of the way Who What Wear Beauty Director Erin Jahns describes it. She said, and I quote, “It will make you feel like you’re a sea nymph on the English coast.” To this day, I think that’s the most accurate description. If I can put it another way, I’d say it’s soft and serene and reminds me of foamy ocean waves lapping the shore.
Jo Malone London
Peony & Blush Suede Cologne
Notes: Red apple, peony, suede
Another editor-approved Jo Malone scent, this one is light, floral, and more traditionally feminine than the former thanks to a juicy red apple note, blooming peony, and a soft, blush suede note. It’s fresh and youthful, never heady or powdery. It’s a lovely perfume for daily wear.
Burberry
Goddess Eau De Parfum
Notes: vanilla infusion, lavender, vanilla caviar, vanilla absolute
I always describe this perfume as rich, luxe, and expensive-smelling. I mean, it has a note of vanilla caviar, so how could it not be? It’s the ultimate sophisticated scent.
Valentino
Donna Born in Roma Eau De Parfum Fragrance
Notes: black currant accord, bergamot essence, jasmine grandiflorum absolute, jasmine sambac absolute, jasmine tea, bourbon vanilla, cashmeran, guaiac wood essence
While it’s rather under-the-radar compared to other designer perfumes, Valentino’s Donna Born in Roma Eau de Parfum is one of my all-time favorites. It’s warm, alluring, and timeless, just like the city of Rome itself.
TOM FORD
Vanilla Sex Eau De Parfum
Notes: Vanilla Tincture India, vanilla absolute, sandalwood essence
This is the ultimate creamy vanilla perfume. It’s soft, smooth, and sensual (as the name implies). I’ve quite literally been stopped by a stranger in the street who told me I smelled good and asked what scent I was wearing. Enough said.
TOM FORD
Vanille Fatale Eau De Parfum
Notes: Vanilla, dark woods, coffee absolute, roasted barley
For a darker, sultrier take on vanilla, I recommend Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale Eau de Parfum. The creamy vanilla note is grounded by woody notes and rich, dark coffee absolute. It’s like Vanilla Sex’s mysterious alter-ego.
Yves Saint Laurent
Libre Eau De Parfum
Notes: lavender essence, orange blossom, musk accord
I think this is one of the most unique designer perfumes on the market right now. The combination of lavender and orange blossom notes, while unexpected, is surprisingly sophisticated.
DIOR
Miss Dior Eau De Parfum
Notes: Grasse rose, bergamot, rosewood
An iconic perfume, Miss Dior is soft, floral, and traditionally feminine. Notes of rose, bergamot, and rosewood create something universally timeless and sophisticated. I swear this fragrance works for every age, time, season, and situation.
Maison Margiela
Replica by the Fireplace Eau De Toilette
Notes: pink pepper, orange flower petals, clove oil, chestnut accord, guaiac wood oil, cade oil, vanilla accord, Peru balsam, cashmeran
Maison Margiela’s By the Fireplace is a warm and smoky scent that’s beloved by so many beauty editors. I, for one, share this genderless scent with my boyfriend. It’s as warm and inviting as a roaring fireplace in a cozy ski lodge.
Maison Margiela
Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Eau De Toilette
Notes: Aldehydes, pear accord, lily of the valley, iris, rose, orange flower, white musk, Indonesian patchouli oil, ambrette seeds
If you prefer a lighter, fresher fragrance for everyday wear, I can’t recommend Maison Margiela’s Replica Lazy Sunday Morning Eau de Toilette. It smells clean and fresh, and slightly floral like a just-washed load of laundry or your skin after you get out of the shower.
Yves Saint Laurent
Black Opium Eau De Parfum
Notes: Coffee, white flowers, vanilla
A seductive scent, YSL’s Black Opium Eau de Parfum never misses. Notes of coffee, white flowers, and vanilla create something that smells warm, spicy, and intense. It’s no wonder this is one of my go-to scents for a late night out.
Versace
Bright Crystal Eau De Toilette
Notes: pomegranate, yuzu iced accord, magnolia, lotus flower, peony, vegetal amber, acajou, musk
This bright and angelic perfume is equal parts fruity, floral, and musky. It’s the scent I think of whenever I see someone embracing the Y2K aesthetic on social media. Actually, it’s the scent I think celebs like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Addison Rae would be into. Whenever I wear it, I feel like a confident, cool girl.
