(WTVO) — Los Angeles Police arrested Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, who was shot by police and charged with attempted murder.
On April 8, around 3:30 p.m., officers were called to the 5300 block of Waldo Place, where one of three suspects, accused of a hit-and-run, was last seen. Police then saw Shriner in the yard of a neighboring residence with a handgun.
Shriner aimed the handgun at authorities, prompting officers to fire, according to LAPD. She was struck by gunfire and proceeded to flee into her residence.
Soon after, Shriner was taken into custody. No officers were injured during the incident.
Officials determined Shriner was not involved with the hit-and-run incident. She is charged with attempted murder.
Authorities took one of the three suspects into custody for connection to the hit-and-run incident, and he was released. The two other suspects are still at large.
Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
