Clemson University has announced six projects set to begin over Winter Break.
These projects include work on the Reflection Pond, underground utility improvements, and updates to the Alpha Beta Circle. Additionally, construction will occur on Fort Hill Street, Bryan Circle, and the Kite Hill parking lot. The Forestry and Environmental Conservation Building will also undergo renovations.
During the construction period, students and faculty may experience temporary disruptions, such as changes to pedestrian routes and limited parking availability.

Here is what you need to know about Clemson University’s winter projects.
Underground utilities removed from Fort Hill Street
From December 16-20, Fort Hill Street was reduced to a single land between Gressette and McCabe Halls. Crews removed underground utilities along the roadway.
This temporary lane reduction was necessary to ensure the safety of the construction workers and the campus community.
The work on Fort Hill Street has been completed, allowing traffic to return to normal.
Work to improve accessibility around Reflection Pond
On Friday, December 20, work to improve ADA accessibility around the Reflection Pond began. This project will help students, faculty, and visitors easily navigate the area, providing ramps and pathways that meet accessibility standards.
Additional lighting will enhance safety and visibility during evening hours, and landscaping upgrades will beautify the area.
Construction will last until May 2025, impacting sidewalks and parking areas adjacent to the R.M. Cooper Library. During this period, alternative pathways and parking arrangements will be provided to minimize inconvenience.
Installation of updated underground utilities
Installation of updated underground utilities will require the closure of Cherry Road between Jersey Lane and the entrance to Godley Snell through January 3.
A detour will be marked through Lot C-01.
Pave the Kite Hill Parking Lot
The final pavement of the Kite Hill Parking lot will occur from December 26-31, to improve surface quality and durability.
Parking in the Kite Hill area will be temporarily unavailable during this time. However, alternative parking options will be communicated in advance. Kite Hill parking lot will be available for East residents returning for the Spring semester.
Replacing concrete in front of Manning Hall
Through December 30, the eastbound half of Bryan Circle will close while crews replace concrete in front of Manning Hall.
Signage will be posted to guide traffic, and alternative routes will be suggested. Epsilon Zeta Drive will be available as an alternate route during the closure of Bryan Circle.
Drivers are encouraged to follow the posted signs and use this detour to avoid delays.
Underground utilities removed on Alpha Beta Circle
During December 16-20, Alpha Beta Circle was partially closed while crews removed underground utilities along the roadway.
Klugh Avenue was closed at the intersection.
