Cincinnati Public Schools closed Thursday due to cold weather


Cincinnati Public Schools announced that schools will be closed to all students Thursday due to the “extreme cold,” according to the district’s website.

The district said that staff, however, should still report to work at their normal time.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a special weather statement for Greater Cincinnati as a cold front moves into the area Wednesday evening, bringing the potential for snow showers.

Cold conditions are expected through Thursday morning with wind chill values between 0 and 5 degrees. The high for the day is forecast to be 27 degrees.

Wind gusts will remain strong, with 30 to 35 mph expected through Thursday evening. Snow shower activity will also continue Thursday afternoon and evening. Some light accumulations are possible.
