The Spot Makes Its Mark – A New Shower Solution by Quiet Town

Introducing The Spot, a modular shower organizer that, quite simply, is the best spot for all your stuff. With multiple shelves, a mirror, and additional components available, you can now shower knowing your products have a stylish home. Not limited to the bathroom, this organizer, designed by Brad Ascalon in collaboration with Quiet Town, can live in doorways, kitchens, and bedrooms, anywhere that needs a tidy up. “We’ve all had (and hated) those ubiquitous white shower caddies that go over the shower head. They swing around, slide down, crack, and rust. I’ve always wanted to rethink this piece ever since the launch of Quiet Town but it took a while,” says Quiet Town founders Lisa and Michael Fine. “I knew I wanted it to be modular and colorful, so finding the right materials, factory, and functionality took time. A lot of time.”

The Spot: A shower caddy with toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a toothbrush is mounted on a tiled wall under a showerhead.

Made of corrugated aluminum, the Spot’s form language is industrial and durable, yet the colors evoke light and whimsy. Incredibly versatile, vibrantly hued accessories adorn the organizer — perfectly suiting any amount of items waiting to be stored. The accessories included are meant to be a starter set, what one might reasonably need for a shower. Beyond that, there are many more add-ons that can suit larger homes or bigger families (or space for the nice shampoo). The strap is adjustable, ensuring it rests at an optimal height from the shower head. It’s even designed to allow easy wall mounting should you use it outside of the shower.

This marks the first hard goods product line for Quiet Town, all strongly reminiscent of what the bathroom-centric brand is so good at already. Lisa and Michael explain how they landed on adding a shower caddy to their line: “Every “shower caddy” out there is made from a “commodity” state of mind. They’re frozen in time, like shower curtains and bath rugs were when we first launched in 2016. Super-basic and uninspired. But we knew that if we wanted something better for our own bathroom, then other people might too.”

Ascalon speaking on the process of designing The Spot: ” We designed as little as possible to let those simple forms and colors tell their own story, simply stamping and bending sheet aluminum into the forms you see, while allowing Lisa and Michael to go wild with their brilliant color choices.”

Anything that can be stored needs to have a home. For many of us, the trouble is figuring out where that home should be. With The Spot, all that guesswork is elegantly taken out of the mix.

Indeed, this adaptive organizer can be taken all over the house: “From the beginning, we thought that the concept had legs far beyond the shower. But because Quiet Town started as a bathroom brand, that’s where we wanted to begin. Over the prototyping process, we not only used the samples in the shower, but in my home office for better organization, in the front entryway for keys, wallets, sunglasses, dog leash and treats, etc… Most recently, as a cocktail enthusiast, I used The Spot to house my various bar tools and cocktail bitters. There truly is a Spot for everything!” Ascalon explains.
