HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — News 19’s Carolyn Kimball highlights different parts of what makes Alabama A&M’s 2024 Homecoming parade so special.
Carolyn started her morning at Drake State Technical College where the parade started. It then made its way down Meridian Street, turned left at the Knight Complex and wrapped up at Elmore Gym.
She said how when she walked around campus, everyone was wearing school colors and vendors were setting up along the street selling spirit gear.

“This parade is a lot of fun for the A&M community. It’s a chance for everyone to get involved and show off their school spirit and school pride,” Carolyn said.
The theme for this year’s A&M homecoming is Channel 1875 and there’s a lot of excitement around an important milestone.
Carolyn talked to Cheryl, an Alabama A&M Alumni, class of 1987. When asked about what part of the parade captures school spirit, Kamelia said it’s the excitement around homecoming.
“Excitement is in the air. Just look around here. I mean, people are coming back and the gatherings are getting bigger and bigger right here.”
