I have two valuable assets that help me as a journalist. My memory is ironclad, and I am beyond a news junkie. I read everything, and I remember what I read.
For the past three months, I’ve put these qualities to good use by writing what amounts to a column a day, covering all things related to the horror and clown show of the Trump administration.
Last weekend, I sat down and started to write out all of the ways Donald Trump and his cast of characters have made fools of themselves by trying to document 100 ways they’ve done that to mark Trump’s 100 days in office.
It was painstaking, for sure; however, it was also revelatory and, I might add, not that hard to find 100 screw-ups that are helping screw up the U.S. and global economy, U.S. national security, justice in the U.S., and the perception and reputation of the U.S. around the world.
So, in no particular order, and without further ado, I give you 100 ways Trump and his loyalists and minions have blundered their way to 100 days in office…
1. Melania’s inauguration hat. It was hilarious, heinous, and out of a horror movie, a harbinger of the next 100 days.
2. Billionaires row, sitting behind Trump as he’s sworn in while the MAGA crowd watches on TV.
3. The Gulf of America. Enough said.
4. Seeking to steal Greenland from Denmark.
5. Trying to make Canada the 51st state.
6. The new gilded age, as evidenced by the schmaltzy gold in the Oval Office.
7. JD Vance scolds Europe for not encouraging free speech, while encouraging Germany’s anti-free speech right-wing party. Anyone know who died and made JD the arbiter of free speech?
8. Revoking the security clearances of former key aides and people like Dr. Anthony Fauci while some, like former Trump Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, have a bounty on their heads from Iran.
9. Executive orders removing DEI programs from government agencies. Only white straight men need apply.
10. Tulsi Gabbard is confirmed as director of national intelligence
10A. Tulsi Gabbard is the U.S. director of national intelligence. (Some items need repeating because they are so unbelievable.)
11. Pete Hegseth is confirmed as the U.S. Defense secretary.
11A. Pete Hegseth is the head of the U.S. military. (Ditto about repeating.)
12. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is confirmed as the Health and Human Services secretary.
12A. As sick as it may seem, RFK Jr. leads our nation’s health care.
13. RFK Jr. claims cod liver oil, steroids, and antibiotics are effective treatments for measles.
14. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth proposes renaming the Department of Defense as the Department of War, forgetting our military’s mission is primarily peacekeeping.
15. Hegseth installs a makeup studio in the Pentagon’s press room, initially costing over $40,000, to enhance on-camera appearances.
16. Donald Trump refers to himself as “king” in a Truth Social post discussing New York City’s traffic congestion.
17. Peter Navarro’s fictional alias “Ron Vara” inspires Trump’s tariff policies.
18. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick cruelly suggests that tariffs on Canada were necessary because relocating factories there would lead to “drugs, alcohol, and suicide” among American workers.
19, Lutnick encourages Fox News viewers to buy Tesla stock. I can’t imagine Jimmy Carter’s Commerce secretary, Juanita Kreps, telling Americans to buy Chrysler stock when the company almost went bankrupt.
20. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem conducts a silly stunt on the Canadian-U.S border hopping back and forth over the borderline while insulting Canada by threatening to annex it. Can’t stop singing Madonna’s “Borderline.”
21. Donald Trump Jr. is opening a new, exclusive club for the ultra-rich and Trump administration officials so that they can all mingle and make backroom deals with each other.
22. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth shares details about U.S. airstrikes in Yemen via a Signal chat with his wife and brother. What a showoff!
23.. Hegseth almost briefs Elon Musk on sensitive U.S.-China military strategies. On its face, briefing the wildly untamed Musk on China secrets should shock you!
24. Elon Musk heading DOGE (I figured I’d keep you in anticipation about Musk).
25. Musk seeks to arbitrarily fire 2 million government workers via email, with the subject line “Fork in the road.” The only thing with a fork sticking out of it is Tesla stocks and profits.
26. Musk and the chain saw, an image that will live in infamy.
27. The blasphemy of the demonic Donald Trump attending the funeral of the angelic Pope Francis. And how did Trump honor him? By wearing a blue suit and taking a snooze.
28. The Pentagon, under Hegseth’s direction, removes over 400 books at the Naval Academy deemed to be related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including works by Maya Angelou. God forbid midshipmen read a poem about Black people.
29. Hegseth reinstates Confederate commemorations in military institutions, including renaming military bases. To Hegseth, it’s Angelou no, slaveholders yes.
30. Trump signs executive orders to advance deep-sea mining, raising alarm among scientists and pissing off the world.
31. Trump launches “Trump 2028″ merchandise despite being constitutionally barred from a third term. But who cares about the Constitution?
32. Trump signs executive orders targeting sanctuary cities, directing legal actions against local officials who obstruct immigration enforcement. Again, illegal, immoral, and who can say “authoritarian”?
33. An executive order aimed to promote “law and order” by enabling legal defense for law enforcement officers facing litigation over official duties. Remember the days after George Floyd when cops were to be held accountable?
34. Trump’s executive order mandates that independent agencies align with presidential policies, Another step toward authoritarianism since this undermines these agencies’ congressionally mandated independence.
35. Four major law firms challenge executive orders issued by Trump, arguing they infringed on freedom of speech.
36. Yet, at this count, five major law firms have caved into Trump making what are surely unethical and illegal deals with the scourge of crime that is Trump.
37. Trump has signed over 130 executive orders in his first 100 days, surpassing previous records and raising concerns about the abuse of executive power.
38. Trump says he’s deported nearly 139,000 people and is repurposing military bases like Fort Bliss for detention. Experts say the numbers don’t add up, and we have no idea if they were deported legally or without a fair trial, because…
39. There’s the chilling case of Kilmar Ábrego García, mistakenly deported, who still sits in an El Salvador gulag.
40, Trump encourages El Salvador President Nayib Bukele to build more prisons for “homegrown” U.S. criminals.
41. Trump’s executive orders have aligned with proposals outlined in the Project 2025 policy blueprint, signaling the sweeping impact of the Heritage Foundation on taking the U.S. society backward to the 1950s..
42. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt suggests that Supreme Court justices could be arrested. Well, that’s OK if they’re planning on jailing Alito and Thomas.
43. Donald Trump’s hair — or increasingly thinning coiffure — continues to be a sideshow.
44. Trump installs two flagpoles on the North Lawn of the White House. While Rome burns, Trump obsesses over flagpoles.
45. During a press briefing, Leavitt labels all undocumented immigrants as criminals,. That explains the rampant crime infesting our country — not!
46. Leavitt promotes a right-wing podcaster known for spreading false information during Hurricane Sandy, giving them a platform in the White House briefing room.
47. The administration bans the venerable Associated Press from the White House and continues to enforce it despite a court order to lift the ban.
48. Trump names himself chairman of the Kennedy Center, as deceased Kennedy family members roll in their graves.
49. Leavitt mocks France’s suggestion to return the Statue of Liberty, stating that the French should be “grateful” they’re not speaking German. So much for tactful diplomacy from the press room at the White House.
50. Kristi Noem’s purse, containing $3,000 in cash, her passport, and her DHS badge, is stolen while she dines at a Washington, D.C., restaurant. Just proves the negligence of Cabinet members when it comes to protecting integrity and intelligence.
The next 10 are the most shocking moves against the LGBTQ+ community.
51. The administration proposes eliminating federal funding for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline’s LGBTQ+ Youth Specialized Services, which has supported over 1.2 million crisis contacts since 2022.
52. At least 68 federal grants totaling nearly $40 million, many focusing on LGBTQ+ health issues including HIV prevention, are canceled.
53. Plans are announced to defund over $1 billion in HIV prevention efforts and close the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of HIV Prevention, undermining access to tools like PrEP and STI surveillance
54. Trump revokes federal recognition of transgender individuals, defining gender as immutable and binary.
55. Trump signs an executive order restricting gender-affirming care for minors: The order aims to prevent gender-affirming treatments for individuals under 19 by withholding federal funding.
56. The Trump administration removes LGBTQ+ and HIV resources from federal websites and deletes nearly all LGBTQ- and HIV-related content from WhiteHouse.gov and other federal agency websites, erasing vital information and resources.
57. The administration institutes a comprehensive freeze on foreign aid, including halting funding for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), threatening access to HIV treatment for millions globally.
58. The Pentagon attempts a ban on transgender military service members which sought to expel transgender individuals from the military and halt their medical treatments,
59. The “chair”of the Kennedy Center is probably behind the cancellation of LGBTQ+ World Pride events at the venue, including performances and parts of the AIDS Memorial Quilt exhibition.
60. The global impact of Trump’s moves against LGBTQ+ rights draws a dire warning from Amnesty International which reports that the administration’s actions contributed to a global decline in human rights, emboldening anti-LGBTQ+ movements and increasing repression worldwide. Let that sink in for a minute!
61. Trump’s sign-off salutation on Truth Social: “Thank you for your attention to this matter.” Does he think this is funny? The memes certainly are.
62. In a January 28 Truth Social post, Trump mocks journalist Jim Acosta, calling him “one of the worst and most dishonest reporters in journalistic history” and a “major sleazebag.” How have we sunk so far that POTUS uses words like “sleazebag”?
63. Trump posts that pollsters should be arrested for “ELECTION FRAUD.” Um, OK?
64. In the Grand Foyer of the White House, Trump replaces a portrait of President Obama with a picture of him with his fist raised after he was shot in the ear in Butler, Pennsylvania, last year.
65. The administration cuts funding for public libraries while our country gets dumber and dumber under our dumb president.
66. Trump signs another ridiculous executive order, calling for more discipline for kids in schools, grades K-12. I had my hand cracked numerous times by nuns, which made me deathly afraid of them.
67. Trump (and Musk) suggest that the U.S. should withdraw from the United Nations, claiming it was “no longer serving America’s interests.”
68. Taking a page from North Korea, Trump pulls the U.S. out of the 2015 Paris climate accord — again.
69. Trump and other Republicans propose restrictions on public protests. Why would anyone want to offend the Dear Leader?
70. After cutting 1,500 jobs, the administration nevertheless orders the all national parks to stay open. If you are planning a trip to a national park, be warned that all these cuts are creating a crisis.
71. Trump creates a Tesla “showroom” on the South Lawn of the White House. With Trump’s sleazy endorsement, Tesla’s stock price and profits continue to fall.
72. The administration threatens funding for public schools that supposedly “indoctrinate” students. Trump only wants to tell the story of the white man’s rule.
73. The administration pauses approval for renewable energy projects on public lands. Trump once claimed power windmills cause cancer, and this move is in line with his mantra “Drill, baby, drill.”
74. Trump is again planning on messing with our NATO allies, which only furthers his attempt to help Putin run wild over Europe.
75. The administration announces plans for further cuts in funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Trump doesn’t care about another pandemic given that he didn’t care about COVID.
,76. The Trump White House is looking at ways to make women have more children. Perhaps, in conjunction with Project 2025, this is Trump’s way to squeeze one more season out of The Handmaid’s Tale.
77. On-again, off-again, on-again, off-again tariffs. Where, oh where is this headed?
78.. Trump says, “I run the country and the world.” Is there any doubt he’s a dictator?
79. Three children, one with cancer, who are U.S. citizens are deported — blatantly illegal and beyond cruel.
80. Harvard University is facing a freeze of $2.3 billion in federal funds and potential loss of tax-exempt status due to alleged mishandling of campus protests and supposed failure to protect Jewish students. Thankfully, Harvard is fighting back!
81. Columbia University has $400 million in federal grants and contracts revoked over accusations of allowing anti-Semitic harassment during pro-Palestinian protests. Columbia caves. Coincidentally, Columbia screwed Trump out of $400 million when it backed out of a land deal 25 years ago.
82. The University of Pennsylvania is subject to a pause of $175 million in federal funding for purported noncompliance with federal priorities, including combating anti-Seemitic discrimination. There are more colleges facing these freezes, with additional ones seemingly added every day.
83. The Trump administration has keyed in on foreign university students, cancelling visas and threatening deportation. It gets so bad that the administration was forced to backtrack and reverse the termination of foreign students’ visas; however, the damage is done. Why would foreign student srisk coming to the United States with the threat of having their visa rescinded?
84. Kristi Noem takes glamour shots, which include her wearing a $50,000 watch, outside of a cell in an El Salvador prison. Theoretically, she should have been in one of those cells for shooting her dog.
85. Right-wing extremist Laura Loomer meets with Trump in the Oval Office and recommends that he fire key intelligence officials — which he does. I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that she was in the Oval or that Trump listened to her.
86. The FBI arrests a Milwaukee County circuit judge for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant avoid arrest. Chilling. Just chilling.
87. Trump shares an article on his Truth Social that says, “Shut up about egg prices.” So much for lowering prices on his first day!

89. Trump says he wants the U.S. to “own” Gaza and make it into the Riviera of the Middle East. This deserves its own 100 list on why it’s terrible.
90.Trump and Vance berate Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, a U.S. ally, in the Oval Office. Bottom line, the Oval is going to need a serious fumigation when Trump leaves — if he ever does.
91. Trump complains about his portrait in the Colorado state sapitol, calling it “purposefully distorted.” Sadly, it was taken down. Whatever happened to states’ rights?.
92. Trump also complains about flags flying half-staff on his inauguration day in memory of former President Jimmy Carter, as required by law. They go back up, just in time for another dark inauguration speech..
93. Elon Musk’s MAGA garb and “Tech Support” T-shirt in the Oval Office, once a place for decorum. Musk, Kid Rock, and others dress down for the most historic office in the world.
94. Trump, Musk, RFK Jr., Kash Patel, and others attend a UFC championship fight in a galling display of toxic masculinity.
95. Oops, I missed Kash Patel being nominated and confirmed as director of the FBI — if that doesn’t send a chill down your spine, nothing does.
95A. Kash Patel is the director of the FBI. It even hurts typing that again.
96. In his inaugural address, Trump says, “A peacemaker and a unifier, that’s what I want to be.” Russia is upping its attacks on Ukraine. Israel is still waging war in Gaza. And here at home, the only unity Trump has created is that we are all enraged.
97. In his inaugural address, Trump crows, “The golden age of America begins right now.” At day 100, Trump’s poll numbers are falling, including six out of 10 respondents who said that Trump’s policies are making the economy worse. Some “golden age” we’re living in.
98. And then, of course, maybe the worst blunder of all — and that’s saying something — Signalgate, where Trump’s national security adviser, Mike Waltz, admits a reporter into a Signal chat discussing U.S. military strikes on Houthis in Yemen.
99. JD Vance is sworn in as the 50th vice president of the United States.
99A. JD Vance is vice president of the United States. God help all the childless cat ladies.

100A. Donald Trump is the president of the United States. God help us all.
